AVL, a global leader in mobility technology development, simulation, and testing, has announced the creation of AVL TSI Canada, marking a strategic expansion into Canada’s rapidly growing sectors of battery technology and vehicle electrification. This move positions Ontario as a critical nexus for research and development in these fields.
Located in Mississauga, Ontario, the new AVL branch will support major OEMs, universities, and research institutions across Canada with advanced testing equipment and software, crucial for the progression of battery technology and the manufacture of electric vehicles (EVs). AVL’s offerings include comprehensive systems designed to assess all elements of vehicle electrification such as batteries, inverters, traction motors, and e-axles.
Corey Miller, Business Director at AVL TSI Canada, emphasized the impact of AVL’s Canadian venture: “AVL’s investment in the Canadian market helps move the industry towards its goal of creating smart, clean, and affordable transportation. These dedicated resources allow us to provide superior service and support as well as enhance responsiveness to suppliers, startups, and OEMs alike.”
AVL also plays a vital role in enhancing Canada’s engineering talent pool by supporting leading automotive engineering university competitions in North America, including the EcoCAR EV Challenge and The Battery Workforce Challenge.
By providing simulation tools, testing equipment, and engineering support, AVL helps cultivate the next generation of low-emission and electric vehicle technologies. This hands-on engagement with leading industry tools not only enables students to thrive in the EV sector but also contributes to retaining skilled talent within the local ecosystem.
