Elevating sustainable e-mobility solutions, Henkel, the revered German industrial and consumer goods conglomerate, has forged a formidable alliance with AVL, the world’s premier mobility technology enterprise. The focus of this collaboration rests on harnessing AVL’s avant-garde simulation and testing apparatus for EV battery evolution.
Nestled within Düsseldorf lies Henkel’s freshly launched Battery Test Center, where the intricate journey of battery enhancement commences with digital blueprints. Here, battery prototypes undergo rigorous virtual examinations and subsequent refinements, aiming to sculpt and assure impeccable processes for OEMs and suppliers during battery production.
Henkel’s distinguished TISAX-certified Battery Engineering Center boasts a seamlessly attached Test Center. Guiding its partners from nascent concepts to polished, operational products forms a cornerstone of Henkel’s ethos, with AVL playing an instrumental role. AVL contributes unparalleled tools, gadgets, and methodologies tailored for electromobility battery system examinations.
This alliance fosters an environment where visionary material and system amalgamations are digitally conceptualized and rigorously assessed, reflecting authentic charging and discharging dynamics. At the heart of this union lies the automation software, which flawlessly controls and synchronizes every component of the test bench in real-time.
Dr. Olaf Lammerschop, Global Technology Lead for E-Mobility at Henkel, articulated the significance of the venture: “Having the opportunity to simulate and test full automotive battery packs with AVL equipment & simulation tools is a great advantage for our product development and innovation endeavors. With that, our new Battery Test Center enables us to co-innovate with our customers and partners and to demonstrate product performance benefits under real-life conditions.”
Complementing this perspective, Urs Gerspach, Executive Vice President of Test Systems and Global Operations at AVL, elucidated, “The cooperation between Henkel and AVL enables the consistency of simulation and testing in battery development – from concept idea to validation. Thus, a state-of-the-art overall process can be realized from the analysis of the battery to the simulation of the developed solution to the real validation on the test bench. AVL is proud to be able to support Henkel in its future activities on the path towards climate-neutral mobility.”
This liaison not only showcases a fusion of two industry titans but also epitomizes a global vantage on the dynamic e-mobility domain, challenging conventions and sculpting industry benchmarks.
