Aston Martin has become the first car manufacturer globally to introduce Apple CarPlay Ultra, marking a new era of in-car technology integration. This next-generation platform enhances the traditional CarPlay experience, merging Apple’s digital ecosystem with Aston Martin’s bespoke design and high-performance identity.
CarPlay Ultra makes its debut on Aston Martin’s DBX SUV and core sportscar range, including the Vantage, DB12, and Vanquish. From today, the technology comes standard on all new vehicle orders in the USA and Canada, with updates for existing models equipped with the brand’s next-generation infotainment system expected in the coming weeks. A global rollout is planned within 12 months.

The system extends Apple’s interface beyond the infotainment screen to the instrument cluster, offering real-time data, full-screen navigation, and media display. Drivers can personalize the layout with selectable dial designs, themes, wallpapers, and widgets, creating a seamless, customizable multi-screen experience.
“Aston Martin is delighted to have collaborated with Apple to be the first to launch CarPlay Ultra,” said CEO Adrian Hallmark. “This integration reflects our dedication to delivering world-leading performance across all aspects of the driving experience, including digital innovation.”
Apple’s Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing, Bob Borchers, noted that CarPlay Ultra reimagines in-car interaction by unifying the iPhone and vehicle interface. “We’re thrilled to begin rolling out CarPlay Ultra with Aston Martin, with more manufacturers to follow,” he said.

Drivers can now manage radio, climate controls, and more using touchscreen inputs, physical buttons, or Siri, maintaining Aston Martin’s commitment to balancing modern tech with tactile feedback. CarPlay Ultra fits seamlessly within Aston Martin’s 10.25-inch Pure Black touchscreen and integrates fully with the in-house infotainment system launched in 2023 on the DB12.
Developed entirely by Aston Martin, the new infotainment platform offers full online connectivity, capacitive multi-touch control, and retained physical switches for essential functions like gear selection, chassis settings, and climate control.
The introduction of CarPlay Ultra further underscores Aston Martin’s position at the forefront of luxury vehicle innovation, blending cutting-edge technology with handcrafted refinement and performance excellence. CarPlay Ultra requires an iPhone 12 or later running iOS 18.54 or newer.
