The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and AD Ports Group have signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Stellantis, one of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers, to develop a comprehensive automotive ecosystem in the UAE capital.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) represents a major milestone in Abu Dhabi’s ambition to establish itself as a regional hub for automotive exports, advanced mobility solutions, and industrial innovation.
It underscores the shared vision of ADIO and AD Ports Group to expand the emirate’s industrial base and foster international partnerships across high-impact sectors.
Under the agreement, Stellantis will collaborate with ADIO to explore new investment opportunities within Abu Dhabi’s growing automotive landscape. The partnership aims to advance research and development in autonomous vehicles, electrification, and next-generation mobility technologies.

AD Ports Group will contribute its global logistics expertise to strengthen supply chains and support local manufacturers, positioning Abu Dhabi as a key player in the regional and global automotive value chain.
The initiative aligns with ADIO’s Automotive Sector Program, launched in May 2025 under the national ‘Make it in the Emirates’ initiative, which seeks to build an integrated automotive ecosystem, enhance R&D capabilities, and expand services related to manufacturing, testing, and auctions for luxury and specialty vehicles.
Mohammed Al Kamali, Chief Industry and Trade Officer at ADIO, described the collaboration as “a strategic step towards enhancing Abu Dhabi’s industrial and trade ecosystem and solidifying its position as a global destination for investment and innovation.”
He added that the partnership with AD Ports Group and Stellantis will “accelerate the emirate’s ambition to build a fully integrated automotive and trade ecosystem that supports the growth of global OEMs.”

Captain Ammar Al Shaiba, CEO of the Maritime and Shipping Cluster at AD Ports Group, highlighted the combined strength of Stellantis’ industry expertise and Abu Dhabi’s logistics network.
“By leveraging Stellantis’ automotive expertise and our market reach, we are paving the way for innovative mobility solutions to scale across the Middle East and Africa, while strengthening Abu Dhabi’s role in global supply chains,” he said.
Patrick Labilloy, Senior Vice President and Head of Planning at Stellantis MEA, said the collaboration reinforces the company’s long-term strategy for sustainable mobility.
“Abu Dhabi offers the vision, infrastructure, and global connectivity needed to shape the future of mobility,” he said. “This agreement reflects our commitment to co-developing solutions in electrification, autonomous transport, and sustainable urban mobility.”
Abu Dhabi’s automotive exports have been rising steadily in recent years, supported by smart logistics infrastructure, favorable trade policies, and increasing global demand for UAE-made vehicles and components.
