Initiated by the governments of Sweden and India during the UN Climate Action Summit in September 2019, LeadIT orchestrates a collaborative venture among premier companies and governments, championing the march towards net-zero emissions, in alignment with global sustainability objectives.
This partnership endows Tata Motors with an opportunity to adopt international best practices and play a role in sculpting policies that nurture a sustainable industrial future. The firm’s pledge to transition its Passenger Vehicles (PV) sector to net-zero emissions by 2040 and its Commercial Vehicles (CV) sector by 2045 underscores a robust commitment to diminishing climate change impacts.

Tata Motors’ sustainability agenda transcends emissions reduction. The company has embraced renewable energy, installing 109 MW with plans to augment this by approximately 300 MW within the next three years. Its commitment to circular economy principles is manifest in the TATVA framework and the establishment of five Re.Wi.Re facilities, aimed at maximizing vehicle lifecycle value while minimizing environmental impact.
Significant strides in reducing Scope 1+2 emissions intensity by 44% over the past three years position Tata Motors at the vanguard of the electric and zero-emissions vehicle revolution.
