AUMOVIO, formerly the Automotive group sector of Continental, invested $110 million in its manufacturing facility in New Braunfels, Texas.
The investment is part of a multi-year strategic growth plan designed to increase production capacity for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
The project will also strengthen the company’s North American operations and support its long-term growth and profitability goals.
The expansion includes a 65,000-square-foot addition and a premium automated warehouse, more than doubling the existing production floor space. Once completed, the project is expected to create around 100 new high-paying jobs, with full operations targeted for August 2027.

“This expansion is a testament to our team’s hard work and commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our customers,” said Ibro Muharemovic, Head of Autonomous Mobility North America. “This has been a key part of our long-term planning, and we’re eager to see it come to fruition.”
AUMOVIO, a global leader in ADAS components, said the investment is crucial to meeting rising demand for advanced vehicle safety technologies.
Earlier this year, the company announced a major radar sensor order from North American customers valued at approximately €1.5 billion ($1.5 billion). The New Braunfels facility will play a central role in fulfilling this new business.
Opened in 2022, the Texas plant is AUMOVIO’s first greenfield Autonomous Mobility facility in the United States.
In addition to producing lifesaving radar systems, it will contribute to the development of Aurora Driver hardware and fallback systems under AUMOVIO’s partnership with Aurora Innovation, a leader in scalable autonomous trucking technologies.

Brandon Lane, Plant Manager at New Braunfels, highlighted the site’s impact since its opening. “Since 2022, we’ve employed nearly 500 people and produced around 13 million radars.
That’s a huge impact not just to our local community but to the global automotive industry. We’re ready to continue that momentum,” he said.
AUMOVIO became an independent entity following its spin-off from Continental in September 2025. Headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, the company employs more than 86,000 people across 100 global locations.
In fiscal year 2024, AUMOVIO’s business areas, formerly part of Continental, generated €19.6 billion in sales. The company’s portfolio spans sensors, displays, braking and comfort systems, as well as advanced software and architecture platforms for the next generation of software-defined vehicles.
