The 2026 Omoda 4 is the new name for the previously known Omoda 3, a compact SUV designed for global markets. This five-seater, measuring 4.4 meters in length, was initially introduced as the Omoda 3 concept in April. However, its finalized production model debuted in China last week under its new name, ahead of its planned release in late 2026.
As reported by the British magazine Car, Omoda has also revealed its intention to unveil the Omoda 4 Ultra in the coming days, aligning with the Chinese automaker’s updated naming strategy. Meanwhile, comprehensive specifications, such as powertrain options, feature sets, and pricing, have yet to be disclosed.
“We make the car with our customers. Omoda 4 better meets their demands. We want our customers to come here to tell us what they like, what they don’t like,” Omoda CEO Shawn Xu told Car.
In August, Omoda introduced its first independently branded model in Australia, the Omoda 9 plug-in hybrid (PHEV).

The model features a longer wheelbase than earlier versions, offering increased interior space, along with synthetic leather seats, a digital instrument cluster, and a large portrait-oriented infotainment touchscreen mounted above a floating center console.
Set to launch in Europe and the UK in late 2026, the Omoda 4 will be a smaller alternative to the Omoda 5 (currently marketed as the Chery C5 electric SUV) and is aimed at a younger demographic.
Built on the T1X platform, the Omoda 4 shares its underpinnings with the C5 and other Chery vehicles, including the Jaecoo J7 mid-size SUV.
The Omoda 4 boasts a bold, angular design that reflects Chery’s strategy of giving its sub-brands distinct visual identities. Depending on the region, it will be offered with a range of powertrains, including petrol, hybrid, plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and fully electric (EV) options.
