Nissan has reduced the price of the Ariya electric SUV by over £6000 as the company adjusts its electric SUV range to qualify for the UK government’s new Electric Car Grant (ECG). Previously priced from £39,655, the SUV now starts at £33,500 for the base 63kWh Engage variant, following a £1,500 government grant and Nissan’s price reduction, resulting in a total saving of £6,155.
The Ariya was among 19 models recently deemed eligible for a £1,500 discount under the ECG scheme, the lower of the two grant tiers, but, unlike the other 18 vehicles, every version of the Ariya was priced above the £37,000 cap.
Nissan provides three powertrain choices and three trim levels for the Ariya, including a performance-oriented Nismo variant.
The base model delivers up to 251 miles of range, and since all versions using the same powertrain qualify for the ECG, the better-equipped Advance trim now starts at £37,500, while the high-spec Evolve version is priced from £42,500.

Meanwhile, the long-range 87kWh Ariya, which can travel up to 329 miles on a full charge, has seen an even greater price reduction of £9,155. Previously starting at £44,655, models with the larger battery are now available from just £35,500.
While the more powerful all-wheel-drive e-4ORCE variants do not qualify for the grant, prices have still been cut by more than £5,000, with entry-level models now starting at £45,500 — approximately £6,500 less than before. The high-performance Ariya Nismo, however, retains its price of £56,630.
In addition, Nissan has revealed a new special edition, the Ariya Shiro, which comes with a 63kWh battery and a starting price of £33,500, making it eligible for the £1,500 grant.
