Volkswagen Group has joined the growing number of automakers offering electric vehicle discounts in the UK, ahead of the official rollout of the government’s Electric Car Grant scheme.
Volkswagen Group, through its newly launched ‘Grant Guarantee’ initiative, has slashed prices by up to £1,500 on selected electric vehicle models across its Volkswagen, Skoda, and Cupra brands. The offer is available to customers who place an order for an eligible model from any of the three brands by August 31.
Volkswagen’s offer applies to the ID.3 and ID.4 in Pure and Pro trims, excluding the performance-focused GTX versions. With the grant, the entry-level ID.3 Pure Essential is priced at £29,360, while the ID.4 Pure Match comes in at £38,090.
Skoda’s grant covers both the Elroq and Enyaq models, available in SE, SE L, Edition, and SportLine trims. With the discount, the Elroq starts at £30,010, while the Enyaq is priced from £38,190.

Additionally, Cupra is offering the grant on its Born hatchback across the V1, V2, and V3 trim levels, bringing the starting price down to £34,190. All three brands will offer the £1,500 ‘Grant Guarantee’ until 31 August.
Volkswagen, Skoda, and Cupra have confirmed they will uphold the £1,500 discount on eligible models even if the government’s electric car grant isn’t awarded. However, they clarified that customers will not receive both the manufacturer and government grants.
In July, the Labour government revealed a £650 million Electric Car Grant to encourage drivers to switch from petrol and diesel to electric vehicles. The scheme offers savings of up to £3,750 on new EVs priced below £37,000, making electric mobility more accessible.
Volkswagen’s latest move comes after similar EV discount initiatives from other automakers, including Hyundai, Alfa Romeo, Kia, and Leapmotor.
