Skoda has previewed its Vision O concept, offering an early glimpse into the next-generation Octavia and the brand’s new ‘Modern Solid’ design ahead of its full unveiling at the 2025 Munich Motor Show this September. Skoda CEO Klaus Zellmer has indicated that the Vision O concept will serve as a preview of the next-generation battery-electric Octavia, expected to debut by the end of the decade.
The Vision O concept features a streamlined, aerodynamic design highlighted by a sharply raked windscreen, slender LED lights at the front and rear, and digital cameras replacing conventional side mirrors, creating a distinctly futuristic and cutting-edge aesthetic.
The new Skoda will be among the first vehicles from the Volkswagen Group to adopt the next-generation Scalable Systems Platform (SSP), which will feature new software developed in collaboration with U.S. automaker Rivian.

“The Octavia Combi [wagon] is currently in its fourth generation and remains a longtime bestseller, even topping the best-selling estate car charts in many markets,” the company stated. Subsequently, Skoda is “committed to continuing the estate (wagon) bodywork legacy into the future,” it added.
Skoda initially intended to develop an electric estate model using the VW Group’s MEB platform, but ultimately shelved the plan. Executives opted to wait for the more advanced SSP architecture, which promises enhanced performance and greater production efficiency.

Skoda plans to launch the electric Octavia estate by the end of the decade, around the same time as the Volkswagen ID Golf, with both models built on the SSP platform.
In the first half of 2025, Skoda delivered 509,400 vehicles worldwide—a 13.6% increase over the previous year, earning it the distinction of becoming the third most popular car brand across the EU for the first time. The Octavia remained Skoda’s top-selling model with 97,500 units sold, followed by the Kodiaq at 64,800 and the Kamiq at 64,100.
