Porsche is upgrading its infotainment system for the 2026 model year to offer improved software responsiveness, including a revamped app center, Dolby Atmos support, and an additional voice assistant option. The updates will be available in the 911, the electric Taycan sedan, the Panamera, and the Cayenne SUV.
The Porsche Communication Management system (PCM) will receive new hardware for 2026 models to make it more responsive. A key highlight of the upgrade is the Porsche App Center, first launched with the Macan EV. The app store is now being integrated across the entire lineup, enabling users to directly download and use various third-party apps on their car’s infotainment display.

Amazon Alexa will be available as an additional digital assistant for Porsche drivers, complementing the existing Porsche Voice Pilot. The newly added voice assistant provides capabilities such as managing smart-home devices like garage doors and lighting alongside everyday tasks like streaming music, accessing weather updates, or requesting information from Alexa. According to Porsche, Amazon Alexa is compatible with third-party apps and can be activated through voice commands or a customizable button.
Porsche spokesperson Calvin Kim told The Verge the new models are built on the MIB3 architecture rather than Google’s Android Automotive OS in the Macan Electric.

Porsche is also introducing Dolby Atmos support in its updated PCM system for models equipped with premium audio setups like Bose, providing passengers with an immersive and spatial sound experience. Dolby Atmos requires music to be played through compatible applications, which, as Porsche emphasizes, are available in the new App Center.
To facilitate the updates, the 911, Taycan, Panamera, and Cayenne will now come with Porsche Connect—a comprehensive suite of digital services allowing users to manage and monitor specific vehicle functions via smartphones—as a standard feature for 10 years.
Currently, the complimentary subscription is limited to three years. Updates for the 2026 model year will roll out in June, with vehicles anticipated to arrive at dealerships by late summer.
