Polestar, the Swedish premium electric vehicle (EV) brand, has marked a milestone by delivering its first U.S.-built Polestar 3 SUVs to North American customers. These deliveries represent a significant step for Polestar as it expands its model lineup in the U.S. and Canada, with the vehicles now being manufactured at the brand’s South Carolina facility.
The Polestar 3, designed specifically for the North American market, is central to the company’s strategy of growth, as it transitions from offering a single model to a broader range of vehicles. This SUV joins Polestar’s existing models, Polestar 2 and the upcoming Polestar 4, reflecting the brand’s evolution and ambitions in the electric mobility space.
Anders Gustafsson, Head of Polestar North America, expressed pride in the achievement, stressing the importance of the Polestar 3 to the company’s expanding lineup. “From our retail partners to our employees, I’m extremely proud and excited for the delivery of U.S.-built Polestar 3s making their way to customers,” he said, noting that the SUV is “proudly assembled in South Carolina and now being handed over to North American customers.”
Deliveries are set to ramp up in the coming weeks, with the Polestar 3 receiving strong interest and favorable reviews from automotive experts. Test drives are available across Polestar Spaces, allowing customers to experience the vehicle firsthand.
In Canada, initial deliveries have reached major cities including Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver, which collectively represent over 90% of the nation’s EV market, underscoring Polestar’s commitment to making inroads in key electric vehicle hubs across North America.
