Xpeng Motors, a leader in AI mobility, has launched its operations in Spain and Portugal. This initiative is in partnership with the Salvador Caetano Group, which will handle the distribution across both countries. Xpeng’s entry into these markets is part of its broader strategy to lead the transformation of AI-enhanced mobility in Europe.
In Spain, Xpeng has established a robust commercial presence, including a network for sales and after-sales services with 10 dealerships in major cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, and Malaga. In Portugal, the company has initiated operations with sales outlets in Lisbon and Porto, and plans to increase this number to 15 by the end of 2025.
Brian Gu, Vice Chairman and President of Xpeng, expressed the company’s dedication to the European market: “We are deeply committed to the European market, which is undergoing a transformation in electric and smart mobility, and we are excited about our ongoing efforts to expand our presence in the region, as demonstrated by our partnership with the Salvador Caetano Group.”
Xpeng’s current rollout in Southern Europe features a fully electric lineup, including the G6 ultra-smart coupe SUV, the G9 flagship intelligent SUV, and the P7 sports sedan. These models are recognized for their innovative design and superior technology, including the SEPA 2.0 architecture and Tianji XOS 5.2 smart cabin system, which provide excellent driving dynamics, rapid charging capabilities, and intelligent cabin technologies. All three models boast Euro NCAP five-star safety ratings.
JuanMa López, Vice President of Design Center at Xpeng, highlighted the diverse team behind the vehicles: “Design plays a central role in our product lineup. We have a talented team representing 16 different nationalities. Together, they combine creativity, cutting-edge technology, and advanced materials to deliver global products,” he said.
“Our design philosophy strikes a balance between emotion and rationality, which is evident not only in our current models but also in the revolutionary products we are developing, such as flying cars and robots,” he added.
Adding to its innovative lineup, Xpeng has introduced the X2 electric flying car in both Spain and Portugal, signaling the brand’s futuristic vision for mobility that includes aerial vehicles as a part of everyday transportation in Europe.
