Bajaj Auto has transformed the motorcycle industry with the Bajaj Freedom, the world’s first motorcycle featuring an integrated CNG system.
The Bajaj Freedom offers dual-fuel capability, combining a CNG system with a 2-liter petrol tank. This design allows riders to switch between fuels seamlessly, ensuring uninterrupted journeys. The CNG tank alone provides a range of over 200 km on 2 kg of CNG, with the petrol tank adding an additional 130 km. This setup promises significant savings, with up to 50% lower fuel costs compared to traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles.
Bajaj Freedom excels in environmental benefits. CNG combustion produces approximately 26.7% less CO2 emissions than petrol, aiding climate change mitigation. Additionally, the motorcycle emits 85% lower non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHCs) and 43% less nitrogen oxide (NOx), presenting an eco-friendly choice for environmentally conscious riders.
Engineered for rider comfort and safety, the Bajaj Freedom features a mono-linked type suspension system, a long quilted seat, LED headlamps, digital speedometers, and Bluetooth connectivity. The CNG tank is securely integrated within a trellis chassis, ensuring maximum safety without compromising space or ride stability.

The Bajaj Freedom is available in three variants:
- Freedom 125 NG04 Disc LED – Rs 1,10,000 (Ex-Showroom Delhi)
- Freedom 125 NG04 Drum LED – Rs 1,05,000 (Ex-Showroom Delhi)
- Freedom 125 NG04 Drum – Rs 95,000 (Ex-Showroom Delhi)
The motorcycle comes in five vibrant colors: Ebony Black, Caribbean Blue, Cyber White, Racing Red, and Pewter Grey.
Rajiv Bajaj, CEO of Bajaj Auto, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation: “In 10 years, there is a possibility that 70% of motorcycles could be CNG. Fuel prices are high, and CNG bikes could halve fuel costs. The domestic motorcycle market is 9 lakh units every month, the largest in the world. All 100/125 cc motorcycles running on petrol are an opportunity for us.”
