Hyundai has introduced its latest electric vehicle, the Inster EV SUV. This new entry-level model is set to make a major impact globally with its compact size and affordability
Built on the popular Casper SUV platform, the Hyundai Inster EV emerges as the brand’s smallest and most economical electric vehicle. Designed to bridge the gap between traditional A-segment sub-compact city cars and larger B-segment compact models, it offers an attractive option for urban drivers and budget-conscious consumers.
With a length of 3.8 meters, the Inster EV features a versatile cabin, a stylish design, and a comprehensive feature list. Its unique appearance includes circular LED daytime running lights (DRLs) around the headlamp cluster, pixel-themed turn signals, and a black bar spanning the car’s width.
The front end houses advanced driver assistance system (AAS) sensors, a charging port, and cameras integrated between the headlamp units. The side profile showcases chunky wheel arches accommodating up to 17-inch alloy wheels, pillar-mounted rear door handles, and functional roof rails.
Inside, Hyundai has combined advanced technology and comfort features to enhance the driving experience. Dual 10.25-inch screens cater to the digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system. Other notable features include automatic climate control, a multi-function steering wheel, ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, and a full suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
The Hyundai Inster EV offers two battery pack options which are, 42 kWh and 49 kWh. Paired with a single electric motor, these packs produce 95 BHP and 147 Nm of torque for the smaller pack, and 113 BHP and 147 Nm of torque for the larger pack. Hyundai claims a maximum range of 355 km on a single charge.
Furthermore, the Inster EV supports fast charging with a 120 kW DC charger, enabling a 10-80 percent charge in just 30 minutes, making it a convenient option for long drives and reducing downtime for charging.
