Nio, a leader in electric vehicle innovation, has introduced the Power Swap Station 4.0. This advanced generation station features an automated battery swap system compatible with various brands and vehicle models, reassessing convenience and efficiency in electric vehicle support.
Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the Power Swap Station 4.0 includes six ultrawide-field-of-view LiDARs and four Orin X chips, achieving a formidable computing power of 1,016 TOPS. Users can initiate an automatic battery swap with a simple tap on the center display or remotely, eliminating the need to be inside the vehicle. Outperforming its predecessor by 22%, the station completes swaps in just 144 seconds and can accommodate 23 batteries, enabling up to 480 swaps daily.
Alongside the new battery swap station, Nio has launched the 640kW Liquid-Cooled Power Charger. This robust charger supports a maximum current of 765A and a voltage of 1,000V. Its inventive, liquid-cooled charging cable weighs merely 2.4kg, comparable to a laptop, designed for effortless one-handed operation.
The inaugural stations have been placed in the Liwan District of Guangzhou and the Luoji Service Area on the G40 Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway. The station in Guangzhou, the city’s 108th, and the Lu’an, Anhui Province station on the G40, a collaborative venture with Zhongan Energy following their partnership agreement on March 22, represent significant milestones.
This partnership is set to create more integrated stations capable of solar power generation and energy storage throughout Anhui Province, with potential expansion across the Yangtze River Delta and beyond.
Nio remains dedicated to advancing electric vehicle infrastructure, boasting 2,432 Power Swap Stations and 22,633 chargers across China, the most extensive network of its kind in the nation.
