EVR Motors, an Israeli pioneer in electric motor technology, recently opened its first manufacturing facility in Manesar, Haryana. This event marks the entrance of the first Israeli automotive firm into India’s manufacturing landscape, signifying a major development in the economic and technological partnership between India and Israel.
Located under its subsidiary, I.EVR Motors, the Manesar plant is equipped to produce trapezoidal geometry coils. These components are critical for EVR’s proprietary Trapezoidal Stator Radial Flux Permanent Magnet (RFPM) motor technology, celebrated for its efficiency, compact design, and adaptability to varying automotive needs.
The facility is strategically positioned to enhance EVR’s global production capabilities, starting with an initial output capacity aimed at manufacturing coils for 20,000 motors each month. Plans are underway to escalate production up to 100,000 motors monthly to cater to the rising global demand for electric vehicles.
EVR Motors has cemented substantial commercial partnerships with key Indian automotive companies including Napino, Belrise Group, EKA Mobility, and RSB Transmissions. These collaborations are set to extend EVR’s reach not just within India but also in international markets.
Sajal Kishore, Managing Director of I.EVR Motors, shared his vision at the plant’s inauguration: “The opening of our new plant in India is a significant milestone in our mission to revolutionise electric mobility with innovative motor technologies. By establishing this facility, we ensure a reliable supply chain and support our growth plans in India and globally. This venture exemplifies India-Israel business cooperation and embodies our vision of ‘Make in India for the world. Our greenfield investment highlights our confidence in the Indian market and trust in its burgeoning mobility sector.”
Naor Gilon, Israel’s Ambassador to India, commented on the venture: “The establishment of EVR Motors’ manufacturing plant in India marks a significant milestone in the deepening economic and technological ties between Israel and India. This venture epitomizes the spirit of collaboration and innovation that defines our bilateral relationship. By leveraging advanced Israeli technology and India’s robust industrial capabilities, we are setting a precedent for future partnerships. This plant not only underscores our commitment to fostering new business ventures but also highlights the mutual benefits of our growing economic cooperation.”
Nick Rogers, recently appointed Chairman of EVR and former Executive Director of Product Engineering at JLR, emphasized the strategic importance of the new facility: “This vertical integration strategy underpins our company’s growth plans, not only for India but also for our global operations.”
The RFPM motor technology, protected by 11 patents, accommodates a wide array of automotive applications from two-wheelers to commercial vehicles. Its versatile design allows for various voltage and power configurations, facilitating seamless integration across different vehicle categories without significant modifications to components or production processes.
EVR Motors’ new manufacturing base in India not only strengthens the Indo-Israeli economic connection but also establishes a new standard in international cooperation within the sustainable transportation technology sector.
