Saturday marked the beginning of the 20th Changchun International Auto Expo, drawing 151 brands from 125 global automakers. The event also commemorates the 70th anniversary of FAW Group Co., Ltd, a front-runner of China’s auto industry. Spanning ten days and concluding on July 24, the Expo presents a global stage for more than 1,300 vehicles across nine specialized pavilions.
The expo, jointly organized by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the China Automobile Dealers Association, the Changchun municipal government, and the Automotive sub-council under the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, stands as a crucial government-led, market-oriented showcase for the automotive industry.
Beyond a simple vehicle showcase, the Expo envisions the future of mobility, under the theme ‘Travel in a New Era‘. Among the display are an impressive 82 new and trending models, not least of which are over 100 new energy vehicles. The event venue, Changchun International Conference and Exhibition Center, covers an extensive 220,000 square meters, segmented into specialized pavilions for motorcycle culture, super luxury brands, new energy vehicles, and more.
In a unique approach to engage attendees, the Expo hosts a range of supporting events, including a cross-border e-commerce trade fair for auto parts, the Summer Auto Culture and Life Festival, car parades, and an array of auto culture activities. The Expo also extends its reach via digital platforms, offering online exhibitions, livestreams, product releases, and services through the online auto expo platform and the Lingdong Changchun app.
The Changchun municipal government, recognizing the importance of consumer stimulation for the auto industry, has issued a series of preferential policies for car purchases. This move is complemented by a range of promotional activities initiated by the exhibitors themselves. Through these strategies, the Expo is actively contributing to the development of a vibrant and innovative auto industry.
